Boston is learning how to use an abacus to support the development of both maths concepts and calculation skills.

Boston is using a Cranmer abacus because it has proved itself to be a useful whole of life tool for people who are blind or who have low vision.

Increasing access to information on the whiteboard in the primary classroom

For Mapulu, accessing information from the whiteboard is a daily activity.

Viv Nuku (BLENNZ Resource Teacher Vision) describes how the introduction of a small whiteboard as a classroom resource, enabled Mapulu to focus on his learning rather than problem solving his access to shared information.
